Shadow Agent Discovery
Shadow Agent Discovery helps organizations identify AI agents operating across enterprise endpoints outside established visibility and governance processes.
Agent Identity Security discovers these agents through supported EDR integrations or through the AppViewX Shadow AI Detection Agent via MDM. Discovered Shadow AI agents are surfaced as Unmanaged Agents, where they can be reviewed and investigated.
How Shadow Agents Are Discovered
| Discovery Method | How It Works |
|---|---|
| EDR Integration | Uses telemetry from supported Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) platforms to identify AI agent activity across monitored endpoints. |
| AppViewX Shadow AI Detection Agent via MDM | Uses the AppViewX Shadow AI Detection Agent deployed to supported endpoints through MDM. The agent detects AI agent activity on the endpoint and reports discovered agents to Agent Identity Security. |
