Amazon ELB

Before You Begin

Prerequisites

Prerequisites for Managing Amazon ELB devices on AppViewX are:
  • Version Supported: Only Classic and Application ELB is supported
  • IP Address/FQDN: Not applicable
  • User Privilege: Access Key, Secret Key, and Region information is required.
  • Enable Password: Not applicable
  • License Check: Not applicable
  • Services and Ports for AppViewX Communication: Port 443, Outbound Internet access is required to manage the ELB in AWS
  • Internet Access/Proxy if Required: Required
  • Location from which Certificates are discovered if managed: Not applicable (Certificates that are assigned to the listeners will be discovered by AppViewX)

ACF Permission
Ensure the following ACF permission is available to add and manage devices:
  • ADC > Inventory > Add / Modify
  • ADC > Device group > Add / Modify
You can check this under any of the following menus:
  • Old menu: menu > Accounts > Role
  • New menu: menu > Platform > IDENTITY > Role

Adding Amazon ELB

To add an Amazon ELB:

  1. Go to Menu > ADC+ > ASSET MANAGEMENT.
  2. Perform one of the followings:
    • Click Device Inventory, and then select Add (+) icon to navigate to the Device details page.

    • Click Onboard Device in the left navigation panel.

  3. In the Device details page, select Amazon ELB from the left sidebar.
  4. Enter or select the field information in the Basic information section.

    Name Description
    *Account name The account name of the AmazonELB device.
    *Account number Account number of the AmazonEB device.
    Note: Only numbers are allowed.
    Device description Description about the AmazonELB account.
    Cert Sync

    Managed: The certificates of the device can be managed.

    Monitored: The certificates of the device can be discovered and can only be monitored.

    Ignored: The certificate sync can be ignored.

    LB Sync By default, this option is enabled to discover and manage the load balancer configurations. If not required, you can disable this option.

  5. Enter or select the field information in the Credentials section. You can select Manual Entry or Credentials List.

    *Credential type

    Manual entry: The user should enter the Access key ID and Secret access key.

    Credential List: The user can select the credential details which are already stored in the credential inventory page.

    *Access key id Access key id of the AmazonELB device.
    *Secret access key Secret access key of the AmazonELB device.

  6. Enter or select the field information in the Key information section.

  7. Click Save.

Validating the Amazon ELB Device Addition

After adding the device, you can validate the device by searching device in the device inventory.

  1. Go to Menu > ADC+ > ASSET MANAGEMENT > Device Inventory.
  2. Search the device name and validate whether the device is added successfully.
