Hardware and Software Requirements

All prerequisites are automatically validated by the Interactive UI before deployment starts. Critical issues will block the installation, while configurable parameters are displayed for review and can be auto-configured.

Hardware Requirements

Before proceeding with the installation, ensure that you have, at minimum, the following hardware with the specifications given below:
  • Single Node Requirements
    Component Minimum Requirement
CPU 8 vCPU (x86 64 architecture; AVX instruction set mandatory)
    RAM 32 GB
Disk 500 GB(It varies depending on the usage) for installation path
  • Multi-Node Requirements
Node Type vCPU RAM Disk Notes
Master Node 4 4 GB 100 GB Min 1 master (single-master) or min 3 masters (HA - must be odd number).
Worker Node 8 32 GB 500 GB(It varies depending on the usage) Min 2 workers. Hosts the bulk of application workloads and stateful services.
  • OVA (VMware ESXi)
Supported Virtualization Platforms Versions VCPU RAM HDD
VM Server, VMware ESXi 5.5 or later 8v 32 GB 1 TB

Supported Operating Systems

Note: NOTE: All nodes in the cluster must run the same OS and the same version.
Operating System Supported Versions
Ubuntu 22.04, 24.04, 26.04
RHEL 9.2, 9.3, 9.4, 9.5, 9.6, 9.7, 9.8, 10.0, 10.1
Rocky Linux 9.5
Oracle Linux 9.2 – 9.7

Required OS Packages

If internet or proxy access is available, the Interactive UI can auto-install missing packages using the OS package manager. For air-gapped environments, install all packages manually before running ./install.sh.

Note: OS REPOSITORY MANAGEMENT: AppViewX provides and manages the Ubuntu package repository (repos.appviewx.com). For RHEL, Rocky Linux, and Oracle Linux, customers are responsible for configuring and maintaining their own package repositories. AppViewX does not manage RHEL/Rocky/Oracle OS repositories.

System Configuration Prerequisites

All items below are validated on every target node before installation begins or execute the precheck using ./install.sh to validate the appviewx prerequisite.

Requirement Required Value How to Fix

AVX CPU Flag Must be present in /proc/cpuinfo lscpu | grep avx — required for cryptographic operations.
IPv6 Disabled (disable_ipv6 = 1) sudo vi /etc/sysctl.conf → net.ipv6.conf.all.disable ipv6 = 1 → sudo sysctl -p
IP Forwarding net.ipv4.ip forward = 1 sudo vi /etc/sysctl.conf → net.ipv4.ip forward=1 → sudo sysctl - p
vm.max map count _ _ ≥ 262144 sudo vi /etc/sysctl.conf → vm.max map count=262144 → sudo sysctl -p
