Installing ELK Components

Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK) provide a centralized logging and monitoring framework that helps administrators and support teams efficiently identify, analyze, and troubleshoot issues across servers and applications. By collecting and consolidating logs from multiple systems into a single platform, ELK enables users to search, correlate, and analyze events occurring across different servers within a specific time frame.

The centralized logging capability improves operational visibility by providing quick access to both real-time and historical application, system, and service logs, reducing the effort required to investigate issues in distributed environments. Through an intuitive graphical interface, users can filter, search, and visualize logs to identify errors, performance bottlenecks, and abnormal system behavior more effectively.

Note: ELK installation is only applicable for the multi-node setup.
  1. Download the appviewx_kubernetes_elk_<AVX VERSION>.tar.gz file.
  2. Extract the contents of the file:
    tar -xvf appviewx_kubernetes_elk_<AVX VERSION>.tar.gz
  3. Move the extracted contents to /appviewx_kubernetes/yaml/appviewx_monitoring:
    cp -r appviewx_monitoring/* /appviewx_kubernetes/yaml/appviewx_monitoring
  4. Edit the appviewx.conf file.
  5. Update the following parameters:
    • ELK=TRUE
    • ELASTICSEARCH_HOST=<WORKER HOST>
  6. Navigate to /appviewx_kubernetes/scripts/.
  7. Run the script:
    ./elk_install.sh
Note: You can find the URLs to access the ELK stack in the command prompt after the installation is complete.
