Installation prerequisites

Before you deploy the Agent Identity Security self-hosted application, install and configure the required software on your host machine.

Docker

Docker must be installed and running on your host machine before you begin deployment.

Cygwin (Windows only)

On Windows, install Cygwin and run all deployment commands from the Cygwin Terminal with Run as Administrator privileges.

Cosign

Cosign is required to verify image signatures. On Windows, after you download the Cosign binary, run the following commands in the Cygwin terminal to install it.

mv /cygdrive/c/Users/<USER>/<DownloadedFolderPath>/cosign-windows-amd64.exe \
  /usr/local/bin/cosign
chmod +x /usr/local/bin/cosign

Caddy (HTTPS, optional)

Caddy is required when you cannot use a real domain name, or when you need HTTPS in a local environment. When you use localhost, the frontend and backend do not connect properly. Caddy sets up SSL and local domain routing so that the main domain points to the frontend and the /api/v1/* path routes to the backend.

Note: Use Caddy only if the applications are already running on local ports and you need a local domain with SSL termination.

On Windows, download Caddy from the Caddy website and run the following commands in the Cygwin terminal to install it.

mv /cygdrive/c/Users/<USER>/<DownloadedFolderPath>/caddy_windows_amd64.exe \
  /usr/local/bin/caddy
chmod +x /usr/local/bin/caddy
