Onboarding an HSM Account

The PKI interface introduces a dedicated section to simplify onboarding of HSM accounts. Users can choose to go onboard either Fortanix HSM or other HSMs, with each option directing them to the appropriate onboarding flow. This enhancement improves navigation and enables authorized users to initiate the onboarding process efficiently. It provides more intuitive and consistent experience for setting up secure key management.

Prerequisites

Before you use the HSM onboarding entry points, ensure the following:
  • User should have PKI Get started permissions.
  • You have access to AppViewX > Platform > Vault and Security > HSM.

HSM Account

The HSM Account section is a static section on the Get Started page and is always visible regardless of onboarding state.
The following buttons are available in the HSM Account section:
Button When to Use
Onboard and Manage Fortanix HSM Use when onboard a Fortanix HSM account.
Onboard and Manage Other HSMs Use when you want to onboard a HSM of your choice.
Clicking of these options will redirect you to HSM onboarding page follow those instructions and complete the HSM onboarding.
