SSH Certificate Trend

The SSH Certificate Trend chart displays certificate activity over a selected time interval and provides an operational view of certificate issuance, expiry, and revocation events.

The SSH Certificate Trend chart is available on the SSH Dashboard and on the Inventory Tile. It renders certificate activity data for both host certificates and user certificates, sourced from the ssh_host_certificates and ssh_user_certificates collections.

Interval Selector

Use the interval selector on the chart to change the time window. The following options are available:

Interval Data Granularity Data Points Description
24 Hours Hourly 24 Displays a rolling 24-hour window ending at the most recently completed hour. Each data point represents one completed hourly bucket. X-axis labels show hours in the user's local timezone; the date is shown only at day boundaries.
7 Days (Default) Daily 7 Displays the last 7 days of daily certificate activity. This is the default interval on initial page load and at the start of every new session.
30 Days Daily 30 Displays the last 30 days of daily certificate activity.
90 Days Daily 90 Displays the last 90 days of daily certificate activity.
Note: The selected interval persists for the current browser session. Switching the interval re-renders the existing chart without a page reload and does not affect any other dashboard tiles. The default interval resets to 7 Days on every new session.

24 Hours Interval — Behavior

When you select 24 Hours, the chart renders with the following characteristics:

  • Data window: A rolling 24-hour window ending at the last completed hour (for example, if the current time is 14:35, the window ends at 14:00).

  • Data points: 24 dots, one per completed hour. If hourly snapshot data does not exist for a bucket, that bucket is omitted rather than zero-filled.

  • X-axis: Displays hour labels in the user's local timezone. The date appears only at day boundaries (midnight crossings).

  • Tooltip: Shows the date, hour range, and certificate count for the hovered data point.

  • Partial data: When hourly snapshots are available for only a portion of the 24-hour window, the chart indicates partial data availability.

  • Empty state: When no hourly trend data is available, the chart displays the standard empty-state response.

Navigating to Certificate Inventory

Clicking a data point on the chart navigates you to the Certificate Inventory page with the appropriate filters pre-applied, scoped to the selected time bucket and your RBAC group.

Inventory Tile

The Inventory Tile on the Dashboard also includes the same interval selector with the 24 Hours, 7 Days, 30 Days, and 90 Days options. The 24 Hours interval renders 24 hourly data points in the tile's trend sparkline, consistent with the behavior described above for the full-size chart.
