Enabling Cgroup v2 on SUSE Linux Enterprise 16
Steps to enable cgroup v2 on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 16 and modern SLES releases if the system has been switched to cgroup v1.
Default Status: Cgroup v2 is enabled natively by default on SUSE Linux Enterprise 16 and modern SLES releases.
Follow the steps below only if cgroup v1 was manually configured on your system.

Open the GRUB configuration file, typically located at
/etc/default/grub:
sudo nano /etc/default/grub -
Ensure
systemd.unified_cgroup_hierarchy=1is present in the kernel command line parameters (GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT). -
Regenerate the GRUB configuration:
sudo grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg -
Reboot the system:
sudo reboot -
After the system restarts, verify that cgroup v2 is active by running:
stat -fc %T /sys/fs/cgroup/The output should displaycgroup2fs, confirming that cgroup v2 is active.
