Create F5 XC HTTP Load Balancer - Basic

This workflow creates a HTTP load balancer using the device name and portal FQDN, along with load balancer details such as type, name, domain name, port, and pool details.

To run this workflow:

  1. Go to Menu > ADC+ > AUTOMATION > Workflow Catalog > View/Run
  2. Click the F5 XC Distributed Cloud category on the View/Run Workflows page.
  3. On the popup window, hover the mouse over the Create F5 XC HTTP Load Balancer - Basic workflow.
    The Run and Schedule buttons are displayed.
  4. Click .
    The Request > Create F5 XC HTTP Load Balancer - Basic :: FormBuilder page is displayed.
  5. Enter/select Device Details details.

    Field Description
    *Device Name Select a device from the dropdown list.
    *Portal FQDN Enter the F5 XC cloud platform application URL. For example, domain.ves.volterra.io.

  6. Enter/select LoadBalancer Details details.

    Field Description
    *Load Balancer Type Select a desired load balancer type from the dropdown list. The options are:
    • HTTP

    • HTTPS with Automatic Certificate

    • HTTPS with Custom Certificate

    *Load Balancer Name Enter the name of the load balancer.
    *Domain Name Enter the domain name.
    *Port Enter the port number.

  7. Enter/select Origin Pool Details details.

    *Create and Associate Origin Pool? To integrate with pool, select Yes, provide the necessary details, and then click .

  8. Click Next.
    The Confirmation dialog box is displayed.
    Note:
    • If you want to save this form and edit it later, click Save Draft, and then click Ok in the Confirmation popup window. The form will be saved as Open request under Request > My Request.
    • If you want to cancel this form, click Cancel.
  9. Click OK.
    A form opens to provide the certificate details.
  10. Enter or select the certificate details in the form, and then click Submit.
  11. Click OK to continue the workflow creation.
    Note: It takes a while to complete the request.
    The workflow is created.
    Note: The stages of the request are shown on the left of the screen. To view a specific stage of the request, click on the corresponding stage.
